Troopers in Montgomery County attempted to stop Brandon Delavallade, of Schenectady, at around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, April 23, on East Main Street in Amsterdam, according to State Police.
He allegedly refused to stop, triggering a pursuit.
Troopers eventually ended the chase over concerns for public safety, and he was spotted a short time later by Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies in the town of Perth in Fulton County.
Delavallade reportedly crashed his car, damaging a private residence, before fleeing on foot, according to police.
Deputies later found him hiding under a nearby home, where he was arrested.
He is facing the following charges:
- Third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle
- Obstructing governmental administration
- Fourth-degree criminal mischief
- Driving while intoxicated
- Multiple vehicle and traffic law violations
Following his arrest, Delavallade refused to provide a blood sample to determine his blood alcohol content, according to police.
He was also found to have an active warrant out of Schenectady.
After his arraignment in the Amsterdam City Court, he was taken into custody by the Schenectady Police Department.
